CIV 445
3 credits
Fundamentals of fluid mechanics applied to environmental flows in fluvial, oceanic, urban, and aeolian systems. Topics include turbulent boundary layers, advection and diffusion, mass and contaminant transport, sediment and particulate transport, and flow-induced changes in bed and surface topography. Applications address the interaction of environmental flows with natural systems and civil infrastructure.
